Mount Shasta dining
Where to eat in Mount Shasta
Mount Shasta offers several different ways to end an outdoor day: a meal in the downtown boulevard corridor, a cafe stop on Chestnut Street, or dinner at the resort toward Lake Siskiyou. The useful question is which place fits your route and timing. Pipeline and Mount Shasta Craft House are on the same stretch of North Mount Shasta Boulevard, while Highland House is at the resort rather than in the downtown blocks. Use the individual addresses below to decide where to park and how much driving to allow.

Theory Coffee — Mount Shasta
Theory's Mount Shasta cafe is on North Mount Shasta Boulevard; its location page provides ordering, directions and current contact information.
Highland House Restaurant
Mount Shasta Resort's clubhouse restaurant offers lunch, dinner and a lounge overlooking the golf course, with reservations available through the resort.
Black Bear Diner — Mt. Shasta
The chain's original Mount Shasta diner sits on West Lake Street near Interstate 5 and publishes its location details and ordering links.
The Garden Tap
Seasonal outdoor food truck and beer garden serving wood-fired pizza. Its official site says closed for the 2026 season, reopening spring 2027.
From morning coffee to a table after the trail
For a coffee stop, Theory has a Mount Shasta location page with directions and ordering, while Alua's Thrive Bar publishes bowls, bagels, smoothies and kombucha. For a fuller meal, compare Pipeline's menu with Craft House's ranch-centered offering. The Black Bear Diner page identifies this as the chain's original location. Highland House publishes resort dining and reservation details, which can help if you want a planned sit-down meal rather than an unplanned stop.
The Garden Tap is seasonal
The Garden Tap's official website said it was closed for the 2026 season when reviewed on November 1, 2026, with reopening planned for spring 2027. It remains in this directory because the outdoor pizza-and-beer garden is useful to know about for a future visit. Check the current announcement before making it your destination; its listing does not mean it is serving today.
Leave room between the hike and dinner
If you are coming down from Bunny Flat, Old Ski Bowl or another mountain trailhead, plan the return drive before choosing a dinner time. Use the atlas to understand the route and the weather panel to check conditions, then contact the restaurant if your arrival depends on a long outing. A reservation should never pressure you to rush a descent.
This is an editorial selection of businesses with published links, not a best-restaurant ranking. Confirm kitchen hours, group seating and dietary needs directly. If your base is actually Weed or McCloud, their separate directories can save an extra trip through Mount Shasta.
